Meet Our Mom

our mom

A Poem for Our Mom !

M...is for the many things she gave us
O...means only that shes growing old
T...is for the tears she shed to save us
H...is for her heart of purest gold
E...is for her eyes, with love-light shining
R...means right, and right she'll always be

Put them all together, they spell "mother"
...a word that means the world to us

our mom

Mom,
Somebody cares if you're happy today.
If your heart is cheerful and light,
Somebody cares if you are feeling good,
And everything is going just right.
And somebody hopes that this message will show,
In a warm little heart to heart way,
You are thought of, remembered and happily wished,
An especially nice Mother's Day !

"Remember When..."

"Time flies," everyone says...
It's frightening sometimes to look in the mirror and see.
So often, we don't take the time to say...
what is in our hearts, and then,
when it is too late, we wish we had.

We're taking the time now, Mom ! to tell you this....
When we were kids there was so much we did not understand....
like how hard you worked,
and how much you sacrificed for us.
There were dreams you had to put on hold,
and dreams that never came true.
You must have felt frustrated sometimes,
and at times even full of despair.
Yet you never gave less than your best to us.
Everyday you looked after us, worried about us, and loved us.
The many prayers you whispered during our lives,
The moments of sorrow you experienced during our failures,
Your acceptance and ability to understand,
The sincere friendship that always gave us much security.
The many lessons you taught with your wisdom,
The meaning behind 'unconditional love',
We appreciate all you have done and expected nothing in return...
You see, Mom, we know now and understand
You actually gave us two lives:
Ours and Yours !!!
Thank you Mom....
For all you are ...
We love you, too !!!

Mom,

Do you remember when?
The BIG SUCKER fell and broke all over the floor.
As a kid I thought it was funny,
but thinking about it from a Mothers point of view- what a mess !!

Moving to Indiana and how hot we thought it was here.
That first summer was awful!!
Now you are in Florida and don't even think it is hot there.

Me going to Virginia with a three week old baby.
Talk about scared !!
It was hard to get on a plane and leave you but glad to have a husband waiting for me at the other end.

I am most thankful that you understood that at age 17, I didn't want to leave my friends and boyfriend and move to Chicago. If I had gone I would not have my wonderful husband and three great children and most important my six grandchildren. They are all my world.

Thanks for always being there for me when I needed you!

Love always,
Sue

Mom,

Do you remember?
You made me play with those puzzles..

That must have been your way to make everything a challenge to me.
It worked !You saw the best in me and your support made all the difference to me.

You had me doing laundry at an early age...
I hung out a lot of frozen diapers when my girls were babies. Thanks for being there when they both were born. How would I have ever done it without you!

You were my inspiration as you encouraged my dreams and plans.

As I was growing up, I wanted to be just like you. Now that I am grown up, I have something more to say--
You are my friend, someone I can talk to and depend on. You have my respect and my love.
(and I still want to be just like you !!!)

Love you always,
Diane

THEN

NOW

The more we think about the past, and all she's done for us,
The more we think how blessed we are, how grateful we should be....
and the more we think about her now, the more we are aware,
that our own loving mother, is the nicest anywhere...
But the more we try to thank her, for the love she always shows,
the more words seem to fail us---
So we count on her to know !!

Love,
Diane and Sue
